Under an international franchise arrangement, a company (the franchiser) grants a foreign company (the franchisee) the right to use its brand name and to sell its products or services.
The franchisee will have a legal name under which it may sue and be sued, but will conduct business under the franchiser's brand name (which the public would recognize).
