Der ehemaliger Staatschef Tschads Hissène Habré, der beschuldigt wird tausende politischer Tötungen sowie systematische Folterungen während seiner Amtszeit zwischen 1982 und 1990 durchgeführt zu haben, wurde am Sonntagmorgen in Senegal verhaftet und ist nun im polizeilichen Gewahrsam auf Antrag des Generalstaatsanwalts Mbacké Fall.
Habré wurde 1990 durch den Präsidenten Idriss Déby Itno abgesetzt und floh dann nach Senegal, wo er seit mehr als 22 Jahre lebte.
