Market competition exists but only in some countries and in certain market segments such as parcel and express mail delivery as well as unaddressed mail (such as advertizing leaflets).
Since then the "politically correct" crowd have got more involved with cigarette advertizing banned from stadiums and from sporting competitions and musical events.
You're also paying the salaries of the employees, maintenance of the building, business taxes, property taxes, transportation, quality control, merchandizing, advertizing, profits, etc.
I do not see creativity there but a reason to justify it through art historical approach which can be driven in any direction like advertizing which is what it is.
