- Desde 1947 tiene lugar cada año en Edinburgh, la capital de Escocia, el Edinburgh International Festival. Se celebra en torno a mediados de agosto y dura tres semanas. En el marco de este festival tienen lugar numerosos espectáculos de tipo cultural: teatro, música, ópera y baile. Al mismo tiempo se celebran un Film Festival, un Jazz Festival y un Book Festival.
