Adding random noise to the less significant bits of pixel values may render the emanations from flat-panel displays unintelligible to eavesdroppers but is not a secure method.
Generally, flat-panel membrane keyboards do not have much of a feel, so many machines which use them issue a beep or flash a light when the key is pressed.
