Restoration of the faades could then begin, along with the grand staircase or the small apartments whose woodwork and parquet needed to be partly dismantled.
The home remains in almost original condition, including original kitchen cabinets, push button light switches, original woodwork, casement windows and hardware.
The walls and woodwork were painted brown and gold to contrast with the white marble pilasters, doorways and niches which were surmounted with gilded statuary.
