WECCON
WECCON ist ein Langzeitprojekt im Rahmen des AWI-Forschungsprogramms, früher MARCOPOLI und seit 2009 PACES.
Es zielt darauf ab, großskalige Prozesse und langfristige Veränderungen der Konvektion im Weddellmeer und dem großräumigen Weddellwirbel zu untersuchen.

WECCON is a longterm project in the context of the AWI research programme which was previously MARCOPOLI and since 2009 is PACES.
It aims to study large scale processes and long-term variations of convection in the Weddell Sea and the Weddell gyre.

Den aktuellen Rahmen für die wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten am Alfred-Wegener-Institut bildet zurzeit das Forschungsprogramm PACES ( Polar regions and Coasts in a changing Earth System ), das dem Forschungsprogramm MARCOPOLI ( 2004-2008 ) nachfolgt.
