1665 nahm er den Ruf auf eine Professur für Mathematik an der neu gegründeten Universität in Kiel an.
1673 wurde er zusätzlich außerordentlicher Professor der Rechtswissenschaft , 1683 ordentlicher Professor der Institutionen und 1692 noch ordentlicher Professor des Codex . Reyher wurde neunmal zum Prorektor der Christiana Albertina gewählt .
1686 ernannte der Herzog von Gotha ihn zum Sächsischen Rat.
