Die Forscher gewinnen so neue Einblicke in die Wirkmechanismen von metallhaltigen Arzneistoffen, denen sie großes Potenzial z.B. bei der Bekämpfung von Krebserkrankungen beimessen.
Wegen ihrer grundsätzlichen Bedeutung wurde die Veröffentlichung in der aktuellen Ausgabe der Fachzeitschrift „Angewandte Chemie“ als besonders wichtige Arbeit („VIP“) herausgestellt.
