Die IAP hat keine festgelegte philosophische Position, sie berücksichtigt aber folgende Auffassungen :
nicht-reduktiver moralischer Realismus, materiale Wertethik (Naturrecht), die Existenz einer menschlichen Seele, Theismus (d.h. die Existenz des Schöpfergottes), menschliche Willensfreiheit.
Die IAP ist an keine Kirche oder Konfession gebunden, ist aber für die christliche Offenbarung offen.
