It all gets to be a bit much, culminating in an over-the-top, albeit upsetting, sacrifice that self-consciously acknowledges the dangers and unlikelihood of "saving" misfits.
But barring that unlikelihood, the leagues that run the game should be slammed with lawsuits and other financial penalties if kids continue to get hurt.
