In 1953 the law was updated and chiropractors were then allowed to apply for licensure before an examining board consisting mostly of medical doctors and a single chiropractor.
The aim is to encourage students to report personal problems at an early stage to enable consideration of the circumstances by an examining board and negate the requirement to appeal.
The examining board consists of up to three representatives of each member state, who must satisfy the conditions governing the appointment of equivalent examining boards in their respective countries.
