What's changed is the distribution, and the fact that Joe Bloggs' average picture can now be masked with a stylised filter doesn't mean that it's not still an average picture.
Sure, it's disappointing when a story breaks about the latest incident involving a player, but no more or less when it's a story involving Joe Bloggs from down the road.
