This research project aims to address the question how knowledge exchange with social software can be fostered, the main focus being on the impact of social attachment on the motivation to share own knowledge with other users.
Preliminary results show that social attachment has an impact on the evaluation of social consequences in the context of knowledge exchange ( such as striving for reputation ) and thus influences knowledge exchange using Web 2.0 technologies .
