The central helices 8 and 9 are composed solely of hydrophobic amino acids ( blue ), whereas the peripheric helices are amphipatic in nature: their hydrophobic amino acids face the central helices, the exterior of this bundle is polar.
The frame below depicts helix C6 which is exacly halfways hydrophobic.
