Context The Moroccan Government presented an ambitious solar project of its own in November 2009 (Projet intégré de production d’électricité solaire) with the aim of producing energy sustainably by 2020 in five locations using concentrated solar technologies and photovoltaic systems with a total installed output of 2000 megawatts.
The pilot project, with an output of 500 megawatts, is to go into operation in Ouarzazate by 2015.

Ausgangssituation Die marokkanische Regierung hat im November 2009 ein eigenes ehrgeiziges Solarprojekt (Projet intégré de production d’électricité solaire) vorgestellt. Ziel ist, bis zum Jahr 2020 an fünf Standorten durch konzentrierende Solartechnologien und Photovoltaik mit einer insgesamt installierten Leistung von 2000 Megawatt nachhaltig Strom zu produzieren.
Das Pilotvorhaben mit 500 Megawatt Leistung soll in Ouarzazate bis 2015 in Betrieb gehen.

The facility, which produces two megawatts of electric power or five megawatts of gas power, feeds biogas into the grid of the Mühlacker utilities, covers, by calculation, a third of the utilities’ gas requirement and ferments some 35,000 tonnes of vegetable raw materials per year.
The Mühlacker utilities currently have supply agreements with more than 120 farmers between the metropolitan areas of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe.
