Br's innovation successfully coupled ink-viscosity with a ball-socket mechanism which act compatibly to prevent ink from drying inside the reservoir while allowing controlled flow.
The monumental building occupies a high point in the city and was originally five stories in height, with a compatibly designed sixth story added in 1920.
