de.bombardier.comFrühere Forschungsarbeiten haben bereits gezeigt, dass der Abbau aktivierter R-Smad-Proteine über das Ubiquitin-Proteasom-System erfolgt, wodurch es zu einem Abschalten der Signale kommt.
„Unsere Ergebnisse belegen nun, dass auch der Vorrat an nicht-aktivierten R-Smad-Signalmediatoren streng kontrolliert wird.
Dies verhindert, dass entsprechende äußere Signale ein internes Programm aktivieren“, so Prof. Wölfl.

“Our results now prove that the reservoir of non-activated R-SMAD signal mediators is also strictly controlled.
This prevents corresponding external signals from activating an internal programme”, says Prof. Wölfl.
