As time went by he improved and cultivated his technique and furthermore learned to play other instruments like drums, bass, banjo and everything he could get hold of.
In 1989 fifteen year old Micky entered the local music scene as the drummer of the 50s style Rockabilly band , called the „ Porncats “ .

Mit fünfzehn Jahren machte Micky Romero 1989 zum ersten Mal in der lokalen Musikerszene Münsters auf sich aufmerksam, als er auf dem Schlagzeughocker der „Porncats“, einer bei „Insidern“ sehr geschätzten Rock'n'Roll-Kapelle Platz nahm.
