Man ( 1846 – 1929 ) with a collection from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Bernhard Hagen ( 1853 – 1919 ), with a collection from the Batak region of Sumatra.
Also notable is the exceptional Batak collection of Karl Maschmeyer, who not only catalogued the native identification of objects, but also recorded them in the Batak alphabet.
A collection from Borneo was assembled by Felix Isidor Baczes, who claimed, “that my collection contains nearly everything related to the life and doings of the Dayak, inside and out of the house.”
