Das Ziel von Newspec (New cost-effective and Sustainable PolyEthylene based Carbon fibers for volume market applications) besteht in der Herstellung fortschrittlicher Carbonfasern mit kostengünstigen und gleichzeitig nachhaltigen Ausgangsmaterialien wie Polyethylen, das sowohl aus Bioethanol als auch aus recyceltem PE gewonnen wird und große Vorteile im Hinblick auf Umweltverträglichkeit und Wirtschaftlichkeit bietet.
Das Projekt soll bis 2017 abgeschlossen werden.

Newspec (New cost-effective and Sustainable PolyEthylene based Carbon fiber for volume market applications) aims at the production of advanced carbon fiber through very promising, low-cost and sustainable precursors, such as polyethylene, both derived from bio-ethanol and recycled PE with relevant benefits to environmental and economic sustainability.
The goal is to complete the project by 2017.
