Andrea Stöckmann was trained as a qualified administrative officer ( Verwaltungsfachangestellte ) then worked for the Administration of the German Armed Forces ( Bundeswehr ) from 1982 until 1991.
She was a staff member in the Personnel Department of the Regional Directorate Northern Germany from 1991 to 1998 and from 1998 to 2004 a staff member in the department " Labour Market and Occupational Research " (partly in the press office, partly in general administration) .
