1844 erhielt Dr. Fran Miklošič eine Stelle als „ Skriptor “ ( Zensor ) an der Wiener k.k. Hofbibliothek, die er bis 1862 innehatte.
Von 1848 bis 1849 war er Übersetzer des Reichsgesetzblattes ins Slowenische und legte damit den Grundstein für eine erste umfassende Sprachnormierung des Schriftslowenischen, da diese Stilisierung des Reichsgesetzblattes als Richtschnur für Schulbücher und amtliche Veröffentlichungen galt.

From 1848 to 1849 he translated the Reich Law Gazette into Slovenian, laying the foundation stone for the first comprehensive standardisation of written Slovenian, as this version of the gazette became the guideline for school textbooks and official publications.
