Die UnB ist eine der größten und angesehensten öffentlichen Universitäten Brasiliens.
Im Mittelpunkt der Kooperation stehen das ZMI der Universität Gießen und das Zentrum für Informations- und Dokumentationswissenschaft der Universität Brasilia , und hier insbesondere die Graduiertenförderung .
Da die JLU und die UnB ein ähnliches Fächerspektrum haben, bietet sich langfristig die Möglichkeit, die Kooperation auf andere Fachgebiete auszuweiten.
