This year’s Gruber Prize for Cosmology has been awarded jointly to Professor Viatcheslav Mukhanov of the Physics Faculty at LMU and his compatriot Alexei Starobinsky.

Der Gruber Cosmology Prize ehrt weltweit führende Kosmologinnen und Kosmologen, die mit ihren Arbeiten wesentlich zum Verständnis des Universums beitragen.
Die Auszeichnung wird jährlich von der Gruber Foundation vergeben, die ihren Sitz an der Yale University hat.

The Gruber Prize for Cosmology is awarded to researchers whose work has made a significant contribution to our understanding of the Universe.
The accolade is awarded annually by the Gruber Foundation, which is based at Yale University, and is worth 500,000 dollars.
www.uni-muenchen.deBühler studierte in Heidelberg und promovierte dort 2009 am Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik.
Danach arbeitete er für drei Jahre am Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology der Stanford University in Kalifornien an der Analyse der Daten des Gammastrahlungssatelliten "Fermi".
www.desy.deBühler studied in Heidelberg and, in 2009, gained his Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute of Nuclear Physics.
After that, he spent three years at the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology of Stanford University in California and worked on the analysis of data from the gamma-ray satellite “Fermi”.
