Simians are usually called anthropoids, and while this name can be confusing, the paper uses the term anthropoids, as does associated publicity material.
The name is used for foreign simians in modern terminology, "xingxing" means orangutan, "heixingxing" with "hei-" black means chimpanzee, and "daxingxing" with "da-" large gorilla.
