The project involves replacement of salt-contaminated render, repointing, cleaning, treatment of metal corrosion and improvement to drainage at the base of the monument.
Additional work to be performed included the replacement of all siding and the roof, additional structural support, repointing and grouting of stonework, and addition of lighting and security systems.
The builder had started taking off the render and repointing all the stonework when the couple finally arrived to see their new property in the summer of 2015.
