A mead that also contains spices (such as cloves, cinnamon or nutmeg), or herbs (such as meadowsweet, hops, or even lavender or chamomile), is called a metheglin.
Species in the meadow include cowslips, ragged-robin, great burnet, common spotted orchid, red fescue, meadow fescue, crested dogs-tail, sweet vernalgrass, sedges and meadowsweet, the dominant plant.
