Fruit bodies grow to 28mm in tall, and comprise a pseudostipe that is 1520mmin 1 long by 58mmin 1 thick that supports a roughly spherical peridium (spore sac).
It is commonly known as the beaked earthstar or the beret earthstar, in reference to the shape of the spore sac and its prominent, protruding peristome.
