Middle class is being able to meet your reasonable needs such as shelter, food and clothing in a reasonably comfortable way... and finding a way to be happy and self-fulfilled.
Unfortunately, this may sabotage our relationships in the process and also create the self-fulfilled prophecy of our worst fear -- that of being abandoned.
Thus, to avoid ugly confrontations, the school lies to parents, avoids conflict with black students that need intervention, and prophesies of race-based failure are self-fulfilled.
So the question is, is this all really happening by design or is it a self-fulfilled, man-made hysteria that we are creating by accepting it in our collective consciousness?
