Many rare items from the period in musical history preceding the gramophone could be seen and heard including self-acting pianos, pianolas and even pneumatic orchestrelle organs.
The granite was lowered from the quarry by self-acting inclines to the narrow gauge tramway which ran to jetties from where the setts were loaded into ships.
