They are a popular choice for decorations, bouquets, garlands and wreaths, especially commercial cut-flowers like asters, carnations, chrysanthemums, daisies, gerberas and tulips.
The nine-year-old competes against the adults and said she grew the gerberas in well-drained soil and watered them "but not very often, around every two weeks".
The business specialises in growing roses and gerberas all year round and the technology enabled then to stop using coal and run completely on carbon neutral biomass.
