Segments on the show included scientific experiments, like a car running on vegetable oil, hangover cures, a superconductivity demonstration, and various chemical reaction demonstrations.
It is a cuprate superconductor, an important category of high-temperature superconductors sharing a two-dimensional layered (perovskite) structure (see figure at right) with superconductivity taking place in a copper oxide plane.
P-wave superconductivity was observed previously in strontium ruthenate, but the crystalline structure of this matter proved to be too bulky to provide a good specimen.
