Zum Gedenken der im Nationalsozialismus vertriebenen Persönlichkeiten stand die Akademische Feier der Universität Kiel zum Volkstrauertag 1993 im Zeichen des Erinnerns.
Die damalige Rektorin, Karin Peschel, nahm die Feier zum Anlass, die moralische Position der CAU zum Ausdruck zu bringen:
