Der Import von Proteinen ins Peroxisom erfordert viele Komponenten.
In der Zellflüssigkeit werden peroxisomale Proteine (rot, Kargoproteine) von dem Importrezeptor Pex5p (grün) erkannt und an die peroxisomale Membran dirigiert.

Many components are necessary to import proteins into the peroxisome.
Peroxisomal proteins (red, cargo protein) in the cytosol are recognized by the import receptor Pex5p (green) and directed towards the peroxisomal membrane.
aktuell.ruhr-uni-bochum.deDamit sie diese Aufgabe wahrnehmen können, müssen sie zunächst die entsprechenden Enzyme in ihr Inneres importieren.
Den Großteil bringt der Importrezeptor Pex5p ins Peroxisom.
Dieser Rezeptor wiederum wird durch das Protein Ubiquitin (Ub) reguliert:
