Während der Podiumsdiskussion sollen die Ursachen und Auswirkungen von Kinderarmut, Zusammenhänge von Armut und Entwicklung sowie Strategien zur Bekämpfung von Kinderarmut erörtert werden.
Die Veranstaltung wird von Volker Wieprecht und Robert Skuppin (radio eins) moderiert.

Im Hinblick auf dieses Ziel befürwortet der Ausschuss nachdrücklich den Vorschlag, 2014 zum Europäischen Jahr der Familie auszurufen.
