Die Caldera entstand in einer eruptive Phase mit sechs Haupteruptionen mindestens 280 km cu Auswurfmaterial zwischen etwa 560.000 und 350.000 Jahren produziert.
Spätere Eruptionen aufgetreten ist, eine neue zentrale 5 km Breite-Kegel und viele Phreatomagmatic Krater und Zapfen in der Caldera Artemisio-Tuscolana und auf seine äußeren Flanken.
