Although I am aware that politics in Italy are more personalized than in Germany, I do hope that the way they see Merkel is not the way they see Germany.
Yet after three weeks in Trieste, I can well understand the fact that German policies are considered arrogant and self-righteous.
What’s good for Germany need not necessarily be good for the others.

Dass die deutsche Politik allerdings als arrogant und selbstgerecht wahrgenommen wird, kann ich nach drei Wochen Triest gut verstehen.
Was für Deutschland gut ist, muss eben nicht auch für die anderen gut sein.
