Unfortunately it was discovered that the proposed web would not follow the reverse curves of the ship's hull which would effectively mask the hull's shape from view.
Successive curves in the same direction are sometimes called progressive curves and successive curves in opposite directions are called reverse curves.
The design evolved from earlier straight-stemmed, long-keel boats into a beamy shallow hull with a pronounced reverse curve in the midship section and a cut away forefoot.
