Small bites up to the limit
If, for example, a buy order of 1,000 shares at a maximum price of € 10 per share meets with a sell order of 200 shares at € 8 each, then this transaction will be executed.
The remainder of 800 shares stays in the order book based on its validity:

Trifft zum Beispiel eine Kauforder von 1.000 Stück mit einem oberen Kurslimit von 10 Euro auf ein Verkaufsangebot von 200 Stück zu 8 Euro, dann wird die Transaktion in diesem Umfang ausgeführt.
Der Überhang von 800 Stück verbleibt entsprechend der Gültigkeit im Orderbuch – tagesgültig, bis zu einem bestimmten Datum oder unbefristet.
